Re: TI-H: Calculators

TI-89 is admissable on the following tests:

AP Calculus (1998-2000 tests.)
SAT

The AP test is official. Visit:
http://cbweb1.collegeboard.org/ap/math/html/exam003.html

The SAT Test is semi-official. Visit:
http://cbweb1.collegeboard.org/testpoli/calcpoli.html

The TI-89 is PROHIBITED on the following tests:

ACT

The ACT Test is officical. Visit:
http://www.act.org/aap/FAQ/Calculators.html

The specific reason that is stated:

"The Casio CFX-9970G and the Texas Instruments TI-89 are not allowed
because they have symbolic algebra capabilities."

The SAT does not list that limit, and therefore, the TI-89, unless
otherwise noted, is admissable. IMHO, the ability to use the TI-89 on
the AP Calculus test is far more important than the ability to use the
TI-89 on the ACT/SAT.
