Depends on the voltage that the LCD is running on, and the current
that
the inverter for the LCD can supply.  I have run these EL's up to
130VAC,
no problems, although at 60Hz they are brighter than I would want for
a
backlight.
The inverter would have to be able to supply an extra 6ma or so to run
the lamp.
I thought about this, but I don't know the specs for the LCD chip, so
I figured it would be better just to use the other inverter.
