You're right about the ROM, but if you could dump the rom you could look
for a backdoor into assembly.  A shell is probably possiable, just not
through the rom.  (Unless you removed the rom alltogether and copied it
into some PROM you replaced it with.  Then it's possiable, but this is
far too impractical for most people)
