Re: Downloads from TI web page

I am not sure what is wrong. I have heard of a lot of problems about the
TI-STORE site. Unless your error has been corrected since you sent your
email (I doubt it, it is kinda late), the problem is probably on your side.
I just tried the download, following your steps exactly, and had no problem,
no extraneous downloads. I am using IE 5.5 on a win98 machine. Your steps
to get the error were VERY helpful. Most of the time people just tell what
the error was, not how they got it. It was very helpful in trying to
recreate the problem, but unfortunately I could not. You might want to try
again, as it could have been fixed. Good Luck!

I have noticed that getting downloads from the TI web page (store) is a bit
perplexing.
Here is what happens when I try to get the newest TI-83Plus Graph Link
software
using Internet Explorer 5.5.

link to www.ti.com/calc
Select Online Store
Again Select Online Store
Choose Country and Language
Select 83 Plus Software
Select TI-Graph Link software Version 2.0 for Windows (Free - Download Now)
Accept License Agreement
click to download ti83pusa.exe
A File Download dialogue box opens and I select Save this file to disk
Another File Download box opens temporarily
A Save As dialogue box opens indicating that I will be getting a file named
Instructions.htm This is not the file that I expect.
I have discovered that if, when the File Download box appears, I first
select
the Open this file from current location option and then select Save this
file
to disk I will get a Save As dialog box that indicates the correct file to
be
downloaded.

This behavior occurs throughout the TI web pages. Non-TI web pages do not
exhibit this behavior when I do downloads. I wonder if this behavior is
intentional or just an error on the TI web page.
