It doesn't give undefined, it gives nonreal answer.  Set the mode to a+bi or
re^i[theta] to fix this problem.  The 83 evaluates sqroot(-1), gets i, sees
this is not real, and quits.  If all nonreals are entered, however, the 83
won't complain, even if you enter (2i)^3 or something.  To set the mode to
one of the complex modes, press mode, go down to the second line from the
bottom and press enter with the selector over either of those two modes.
