Usually "mem[o]ry" refers to RAM.   In this case, you want to know your
ROM version.  For the TI-86, press [2nd] [MODE] [ALPHA] [S].  The number
you get should be one of {1.2, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 1.6}.  Then press [ENTER]
to return to the home screen...   :)
