You're getting confused over old style ROM (you know, real ROM, the stuff you
have to torch with a flamethrower to destroy the contents, or at least crush
with a boot real well) with the newer PROMs and EEPROMs.
ROMs are Etch Once Read Many.
I "flashed" my TI-92+ "ROM" because it is EEPROM. I'd have a hell of a time
flashing its real ROM.
