  This universal protocol, however, will not be as limited as Basic in
programming.  The _translator_ itself doesn't necessarily have to be
inside the calc, just a shell that executes, and possibly optimizes, the
translated code.  The translator could just be a beefed up program on
the computer you have to send the programs from anyway.
  Unfortunately, the hardware specs and the ROM itself can make a
translator pretty difficult.  In addition to that, the translator must
be able to be used on multiple computer platforms, that is, unless you
make some for every type of computer.
