Isn't this in the FAQ?

Type MODE, then ALPHA, then S. The number displayed is your ROM
version. Do not press enter, it'll reset your memory. You can not
detect this from a Basic program, but you could probably hunt around
in the ROM in an asm program. (A do-it-yourselfer)
