The TI-83 does not Suck, as you say. I personally think that both of them
have their strong points. Here are things I don't like about the TI-85:
The Menus (Sure they don't take up the whole screen, but that makes them
hard to read.)
It doesn't have Split Screen Mode. (The 83 has 2 Spit screen modes,
top/bottom and left/right)
Plus, the 83 has more statistics functions, can handle Cash Flows and
Amorization. It also has a better design than the 85.
Zshell? Well, the 83 can run 83 basic games, 82 basic games, and Z80
assembly programs BUILT IN! Can you say that the 85 has that capabiltiy
built in? NO!
