So it should be rephrased.  Our perception of light is
changed by massive objects.  But then again, everything
is based on a perception.  Hence why they call it
relativity.  :)  It's important to note that all of gravity is
based on these bends in space-time.  If you say that
massive objects don't directly affect light (since gravity
doesn't directly affect light and only changes the
geometry of it's apparent path), you also say that
massive objects don't directly affect other massive
objects.
