You could just code it the way DOS handles long filenames, if the length of 
your filename > 8 then replace the last two letters with "~1" or something 
like that

Color coding really isn't that hard..just find the word in the text, 
auto-select it and set the color of that word..though I don't know how to use 
the com port to send a program.
