A couple of days ago I started writing an assembly chess program I called
ZChess, which would allow a human to play another human. I wasn't planning
on having the calculator play, though. I wrote the routine to draw a board
made of squares 8 pixels by 8 pixels, and I had a friend draw the pieces for
me. I'm working on the code to input a move from the player. Anyway, it
sucks right now, but if you don't want to have to draw the pieces and do the
board drawing stuff, we could combine the programs. Or if anybody else wants
the code, just mail me.

I'm not sure ZChess and Chess Master would mix well, though. In ZChess I
didn't use a matrix for the board, I just stored it as data in the assembly
program. So I used letters like 'p' and 'K' for the pieces. If anyone wants
to help me with ZChess I'll give them credit.

I had considered making ZChess play chess, but when I looked at the C code
for GNU chess and Crafty I thought it would be impossible to write in
assembly on a calculator. If you could make just _one_ calculator player I
would be extremely impressed.

Thanks,
wil mahan
