I have been working quite a bit with the display controller, and to my
knowledge the amount of time you have to wait depends a lot on the
calculator, not just the batteries and stuff like that. The only thing I now
for sure is that the delay Ti uses in the ROM is way too long. When I beta
tested greyscale for the ti82 all the beta tester got different result, even
on new batteries. Also, when i wrote the display routine for Ash 3.1 i found
out that the one included in CrASH (ti82 asm shell), is too fast for my
calc.

BTW thanks for the link to the datasheet, but I did download it as soon as
it was released.
