That wouldn't take as long time as his, better cube the delay like this:

Delay: push bc
       ld   b,0
d_3:   push bc
       ld   b,0
d_2:   push bc
       ld   b,0
d_1:   djnz d_1
       pop  bc
       djnz d_2
       pop  bc
       djnz d_3
       pop  bc
       ret

That would be a rather long delay.
