Pending Down to Darn Near Nothing
Posted by Nick on 12 March 2003, 20:46 GMT

As of press time, our pending queue is at thirteen files. This being a lower number than, say, eleven frickin' hundred is probably worthy of a news post.

Congratulations to Joey and Morgan on a wonderful job done over the past week.

Im sure I am with all the programmers on ticalc.org when I say, great job, I had almost 20 files uploaded this week. It sure beats just waiting for one file to be uploaded by anyone.

I know, I had about 60(!) files in my pending queue at one point, and now it's down to a big fat ZERO!

:) I still have about 50 more files to upload though!

lol, same here, not really 50 but a lot more to upload. I was wondering if I should not upload them, but things seem to be flowing now.

But you forget, I program for the 86, so in my mind that's 86 code (it would run if you input it into an 86, by the way).

Added Folders

Thanks! It should also be noticed that we have added a few folders to the achives:

86/asm/games/levels/megacar
83plus/asm/games/levels/orzunoid
83plus/asm/games/levels/lemmingz
win/icons
win/vtiskins

If you have any more suggestions send them to filearchive@ticalc.org

good, we needed more categories. My suggestion, split BASIC Games into categories because there is way too many of them on one page at the same time.

That's a great idea!
My suggestion:

-3D First-Person Shooters
-Racing games
-Text-based games
-Arcade-style games
-Other??

But that's where it would get confusing. Where would games like these fit in?

Memorize Pi
Hit the left or right keys as fast as you can
...

Also fps games in BASIC aren't very common at all (except for that Unreal Tournament game you wrote)

Actually, I've seen several:

*Urban from SiCoDe
*AERO (A ripoff of UnreaL TOurnaMent)
*Doom 3D
and countless doom clones

And then there's that one 3D engine for the 89 (forget what it's called and too lazy to look it up).

Yeah, but the Text-based adventure folder would have to have tens of sub folders.

Nah, it's fine the way it is (unless it's TI-83+ BASIC--sheesh!). Most BASIC games don't have much categorization to them. They're just... basic. :)

it does not exist, there is a whole lot of zips containing one icon only in that section.

Oh, okay. :)

While other people were talking about it... I've had this file in the wrong folder for about a year and a half now :)

http://www.ticalc.org/ archives/files/fileinfo/ 193/19321.html
(so the id# is 19321)
should be in 82/basic/games
instead of 82/basic/games/levels

Sorry :)

Obtw, if you think it's too annoying or unimportant, don't feel like you MUST do it... after all, it's been there for >1.75 years, so it's not too big of a deal. (It's just a BASIC game I ported)
