Chmasc v0.91
Posted by Nick on 13 March 2000, 00:57 GMT

...And extra sausage on it this time. *click* Oh, it's you! Perhaps you'd like some news.
Kirk Meyer has released Chmasc v0.91 for the 86. This version of Chmasc should work on ROM versions other than v1.2. Thanks to Kirk for his promptness in fixing this. Hopefully, Chmasc should now have less problems on your calculator.

First Comment! Or as it seems. I used this program a long time ago and remmeber it was really buggy; hopefully this time it works a little better.

Just to clarify that - "works on ROM versions other than 1.2" does NOT mean that it works on all versions EXCEPT 1.2, which is what many people think at first site. It just means that the original version only ran on 1.2, and now Kirk has fixed it to ALSO work on the other versions.

I didn't read that far into it, but that could be inferred.
The old version only ran on ROM v1.2 because it used 1.2-specific functions. Kirk fixed this so it's nice and happy now.

two words...

well, one product name and another word...

maybe an article infront of the product name...

ok...three words...

recovers the 86's memory after a battery removal or memory reset by typing in certain asm commands... very cool.

Re: Re: Re: Chmasc v0.91

sort of like a manual archive recovery, if you want to look at it from the 89's perspective :-)

It enables you to recover all your data after a _real_ reset.

Yes, i hated that I overwrited V.6 and cou;dnt use V.9, now i can!
Also, on the 15K extra program he made---
AWSOME PROGRAM but....
even when i typed #define 8096 or whatever it still locked up when I ran any grayscale or 85 emu programs.

Although I am gonna dissassemble it and write down its hex code on some paper so if my calc locks up, chmasc doesnt work, and I want some xtra room-- got it!

Kirk.. what do you do all day? how many pieces is your 86 in?

Emulators will almost assuredly use the extra ram space, so you can't expect to keep that memory preserved with them. As for grayscale progs, it really just depends on the particular one.

What is UP with all these MISTAKES in the program archive??? First, a TI-89 program gets posted in the TI-86 area (some chat program), then a ti-89 basic program gets posted in the assembly area (the getkey thing), and NOW, some 89 program got posted in the 86 area!!! Are you guys not getting enough sleep or something? ;-)

It's nice to see the TI86 program line up on such a comeback. Here are a bunch of questions I have for the programmers out there.

1. Kirk M., what is *officially* happening with the Katydid project? Is it discontinued?
2. Is anybody developing a fps or something using Clem's Maze3D beta 5 engine?
3. Aaron C., how's YAS coming along? I'm getting eager for an update.
4. James R., I'm *really* interested in the Orb project. How's it coming?
5. And finally, we haven't heard anything from the TCPA recently. What's going on with you guys?

Long live the TI86!

Actualy speaking of the superiority of the 86, I used to have one, but I uh, lost it, and I'm thinking of buying a 86 again, instead of an 89. Mainly so I can play BomberBloke ;) My friend has an 89 and it's always crashing! and the 89 dones' have all the kick butt programers the 86 does.

keep up the good work guys! now all we need is pretty font and 3-d Grapher!

1. Kirk wants to sell it. For money. And good luck to him, too - he deserves it.

2. The 86 really can't handle an FPS, or so Clem concluded. Try emulating the 85's daedalus - that's as close as you'll get.

3. If only you knew.

4. Jaymz is more of a slacker than I am.

5. I ate them.

6. Insert extraneous ambiguos response here.

That's "extraneous."

And don't forget who set up the bear traps all over the place to catch the TCPA so you could eat them.. of course there was that one mishap with Dan getting cut in half :)

I don't know what could have been wrong with my calculator, (it is v. 1.2) but when i ran the program after a crash, you know, the ASM prog, it just froze my calculator and i had to reset it again.

I was wandering if this version of chamsc will work in concurrence with the new space program he made...the one that gives you more memory? It prolly wont but it would be cool if it did!
