IonGuru and Chicken Shoot
Posted by Nick on 19 February 2000, 05:21 GMT

Chicken ShootWarning: This news item contains words that nobody would even think of using in daily conversation.
When you thought the concept of the Windows .HLP file couldn't get any cooler, Matt Hernandez had to shock and discredit you. IonGuru v1.0 is a nifty little help file thingy that should help newbies get better acquaintanted with programming for the TI-83 (and 83 Plus)'s Ion shell. It also includes a lot of nifty-doodle utilities that you can use to compile and toy with your creation(s).
Chicken Shoot is another equally zip-zop-zabulous game from Harper Maddox. You have to shoot chickens as fast as possible. It's a pretty straightforward game. Harper tells you to "shoot in the opposite direction of the chicken" but I doubt there's any validity to that statement *g*. This should be bug-free. Grab it for the 82 (CrASH), the 83 (SOS and Ion), and the 83 Plus (Ion).

Re: Chicken Shoot

Nice, good game... but it would be nicer with direct input (if that's not already being used). The keys don't seem very responsive. Oh well, I'm not one to complain, I'm not so good at ASM.

Re: ION Guru

I got this maybe, 2 days ago, and it kicks some ass. Of course it's not as good as ASMGuru yet, but that takes time. It really got me introduced into the "integrated" ION libraries... I might even make something.

Ah Nick, I see you unloaded some words off of your "to use" list. Keep up the nifty language!

Yes you are. If not about the calculator then about being so cruel to chickens.

go to the archives for the 83+, then asm, then shells...
there you will find Ion for the 83+. The instructions for ION are in its readme.txt
