Otaku Programming Association: opa.ticalc.org
Posted by Nick on 10 January 2000, 03:33 GMT

Otaku Programming AssociationAnd you thought life couldn't get any better. You were so wrong. Otaku Programming Association is now hosted under ticalc.org. This hosted site is another programming group. They have released programs such as Fallup for the 83 and the 83 Plus (Ion) and Latin Translator II for the 89. They're currently accepting new members and they have some great programs in store for the future, so be sure to head there soon!

otaku...obsessed/abnormally-devoted-to programming association? At least that's what I remember otaku as meaning....

off topic, sort of:

Anybody else see ti-83's that stray from the normal z80 calc design and look more like an 89? The buttons are bigger and the screen isn't behind a slanted piece of plastic...

There is a version of the 83 that has the button layout of the 89 and 83+... I saw one at school last year... Dunno who had it, but it the buttons and everything were the same color as the 83.

Most of the calcs (including the 82, I think) got resdigned with the case from the TI-73. Now the same cases can be used on all their major calcs (except the 92+, of course).

And of course this is because they can now fit color slide cases on all the calc models. :-)
On the same subject, I'm still looking for buyers for my purple slide case. Never used. In fact, it's still in its original bubble wrap.

Anyone... Anyone... *g*

IMHO, those translucent cover things are worthess, ugly, and a total waste of money.

Sorry Nick, I hope I don't ruin your sale.

What does it take to get your sited hosted at ticalc.org? Does it need to be 'good enough' or something, because i like our site better then this one.

Our hosting guidelines are highly subjective, and are available under "Services" at the top of this page.

Does it really make a difference? All hope is lost. Might as well put the barrel in your mouth and pull the trigger.

I'm not sure if you all are experiencing the same difficulty that I am, but in the Latin Translator I constantly get "Internal Errors" in my 92 Plus, prohibiting me from using the program. I thought that maybe this was due to my 92 Plus being incompatible with the program, so I tried it on a friend's 89 and still received the same problem. I am running AMS 2.03 and HW 2.00. Maybe someone can help me figure out what I'm doing wrong....

The problem is because I secured the code with Secure v1.2 & that program isn't compatible with ROM version 2.03. But don't worry, I'm fixing that right now.

Hey, guys! You can stop insulting us now, the guys who made Fallup have quit OPA and we've taken it off the site. Ditto for Latin Translator.
