CalcSys - FLASH Application For 83 Plus
Posted by Nick on 7 November 1999, 17:14 GMT

CalcSysDan Englender of TCPA has released some groundbreaking material, uh, five minutes ago - the first free third-party FLASH application for the TI-83 Plus. It was made using the recently announced SDK. It's called CalcSys. In this program, you can do basically anything conceivable to assembly code. Hex editing, modifying RAM, running assembly programs, decompiling, you name it. To install this program, please follow the directions specified in the documentation CAREFULLY. This program *IS* a normal flash application for the TI-83 Plus, so not complying with the instructions could result in serious damage to your ROM. Enjoy!

OKay this is by far the best program for the ti-83+. I'm not a programmer(well basic) but I still love this program. It can unlock a lot of features for the ti-83+.

one piece of advice with system flags. there are some flags (i.e. cursor flash) that will may turn your calc off and won't let it turn on (at least on mine it did). all you have to do is take out a battery and put it back in. It also doesn't matter if you press the on button nothing will clear.

good job TCPA

The second release of Calcsys (which is up at TCPA and should be up at ticalc shortly) provides the calcsys.app file in the zip. This is so mac users can install calcsys onto their calculators. There is no change in functionality, just the addition of this file and update of the documentation.
