68k POTY Voting Opens
Posted by Michael on 21 December 2007, 22:37 GMT

Voting for the 2007 68k POTY is now open. Vote now for your favorite 89, 92+, or V200 program of 2007!

Because our pending queue backlog allowed Doom89 to languish for a month before it was processed and featured, it will be competing in this year's POTY even though normally the date of featuring would have been too late.

Great, gonna vote asap! And I think it is a good idea to allow Doom 68k in, pretty fair in my opinion since the game was released more than two weeks before the deadline

Super Mario 68k gets my vote though, I liked Doom a lot, but I love Super Mario a lot, and even if the controls are bad in the calc game I still enjoy it anyway

Don't worry. I'm voting for Super Mario 68k as well, even though I don't currently know how to vote. Can someone help me out with this?

So I didn't see the survey at first and I was worried that I couldn't vote. I then realized that I have a customized page. If the survey doesn't show up and your account info has at least one 68K calculator selected as owned by you then you simply need to change your customized page settings to see the survey to vote. That's simple, on the home page follow the "Customized" at the right hand side almost to the top of the page, then select "Survey" under "Sidebar contents:", and finally click on update. The survey should now appear. Enjoy voting!

Super Mario definitely takes the cake, imho.

Doom used a preexisting library, so its hardly innovative

true, it isn't really fully his game, actually the reason for the feature was prbly the good graphics and the fact it's a grayscale first person shooter. I liked it though ^^

Hey, on a more serious note, if Aaron had programmed his own engine, would it've been a better contender? Cause I'm hopefully gonna release Metroid 68k and the Icarus engine that it runs on sometime next year, and maybe it'll be POTY!!!!
