MirageOS v1.2 Released
Posted by Michael on 15 May 2004, 03:25 GMT

Detached Solutions has released the eagerly anticipated update to its popular flash shell, MirageOS. MirageOS v1.2 fixes all problems with BASIC programs crashing the calculator, sorts programs faster, has a "smart writeback" for archived programs, and is compatible with the TI-84 Plus.

The sorting is incredibly fast - from 3.5 minutes to 5 seconds on my calculator.

overall id say this is a great program, however within 5 minites ive already found a bug. the omnicalc custom menu cant be accessed and will instead delete your ram (on an se) anyway. it may be small but a bug nevertheless

What do you mean? I own a silver 1.15 and MY custom menu doesn't crash. In fact, I haven't found anything conflicting between MOS 1.2 or Omnicalc 1.1.

it doesn't look like it's from mirageOS because mine works fine as well...check if you have any other apps that make appvars and fiddle around for a while (yay RAM recovery on SE!!)

yeah, that app has some bugs that really can fuck up your calc, Idk it prob messed with some internal OS flags or somethin. My calc got constant ram clears(for reason that made NO sense at all, for example gping inot the basic editor and pressing 2nd-mode to quit voila! ram clear. So i deleted it,but plan to use it again when im in geo or somethin'.

Make sure the Appvar "custom" is unarchived. Mine just goes back to the homescreen when that happens, but you never know.

Well, I feel ashamed to say this, but after MULTIPLE YEARS of searching for what the save the whales does, I STILL have yet to notice any difference whatsoever in the operation of mirageos - note that I am still running the v1.1 of MirageOS until I get a new graphlink...(prob will build this time around - my blacklink broke)

Anybody willing to squeal? of course, I can fully understand if you don't, as it is somewhat of a secret...

I forgot to mention that I am talking about the save the whales option - so after multiple years of searching, I still can't figure out what the save the whales option does

There was a huge discussion on the "save the whales" option a few posts back, so check it out.

Those "horizontal" and "vertical" lines are the axes, and though MirageOS doesn't affect them directly, programs run inside can easily disable them. To reenable the axes, press 2ND+[FORMAT], scroll down to AxesOn, and press ENTER to enable.

And I realize this reply is coming pretty late, but I really wanted to start the conversation up again.
