Some More Programs
Posted by Michael on 9 March 2004, 23:25 GMT

[ZMercury] There's been a huge influx of programs in the last few days. Everyone's favorite uber-elite author, Patrick Davidson, has released ZMercury for the 85 and 86. ZMercury is "a fast-paced, highly intense, shoot-em-up with horizontal parallax scrolling."

For something more constructive, there's Music Station by Paul Houser for the 89. Music Station is a flash application for writing and playing sheet music on your calculator. It uses the link port to output sound, either via headphones or an AM radio. This app was a runner-up in the 2003 TI App Contest.

[Synapse Accelerator]Are you feeling a bit sluggish? Synapse Accelerator for the 89 will make those neurons fly with its reflex and memory-strengthening action.

Hey, I just got two e-mail viruses from people that have never e-mailed me at my theycallmeyams mail box. THey were members of this site. Has TIcalc been hacked again? Or is this just people looking at the site?

I've gotten two viruses within the past week from webmaster@TIcalc.org. One had a subject of "Re: My Details" and the other "Re: Thanks!".

These things typically place a false sender address in the message, so it probably wasn't really from ticalc.org.

Yeah, but you can still track where the message came from.

How do you do that? I've often wondered...

Yes, but I was wondering if TIcalc had been broken into, so that people would know who the messages came from. I thought maybe they got the to and from addresses from this site.

If by broken into you mean by a virus/worm... it's unlikely. TIcalc runs on Linux, and this email worm looks like one of those Windows worms of the month.

I get those all the time. I just delete them. I heard from some other ticalc members that they were getting them too. I wonder what's up with that?

I don't know if this has happened to anyone, but some of the newly uploaded programs says it has screenshots indicated by the blue/red triangles. But when you click on the triangles, it does not show the screenshot(s) in the program's profile. I don't know if this is me, but if anyone has the same problem, please let me know. Thanks!

Maybe you have a really slow connection and the images just aren't loading... or maybe you're not showing images (there is an option to turn them on/off somewhere). Other than that, I don't know.

Yeah. If you're using Avant Browser, you can just click a button on top of the screen. IE must have something under Internet Options.
