Calculator User Survey Posted
Posted by Andy on 22 May 1999, 23:21 GMT

We're curious what kinds of users are using ticalc.org and TI Calculators in general. For this reason, we have posted the Calculator User Survey in the survey section. If you have lost your Voter ID or Password you can use our recovery form. If you have any ideas for future polls please send them to survey@ticalc.org.

Actual Usefulness of most Comments

It seems to me that most of the coments on this page have little or nothing to do with calculators or ticalc.org. While the conversation is interesting, this is the first time that I have seen comments on a calculator or the pertaining programs that included "i dont thinks its caffeine....maybe a little dope or crack". that is quite the interesting calculator if it is taking crack or dope.

Not that I don't enjoy the interesting conversation, it's just that is exactly that, interesting albeit not pertaining.

I resoundingly concur. I feel that if someone actually had something relevant to say about calcs, they might exclude their comments because people might be writing comments that have absolutely nothing to do with the topic at hand, and they feel their beliefs may be an unwanted deviation.

Hmmm... nothing. Definitely nothing.

The worst part is, I'm guilty of it. I hope I'm not driving away calc-users, but this page is for fun, too, not_all_business. Besides, if someone running TI-Calc.org gets the notion, this page will become REAL empty_real_quick.

On another note, the newslists tend to be a bit more, uhhh... focused. There better help than this comment page, IMO.

Ok, one more bit of my thoughts, then I'm done. I agree with the guy (girl, maybe?) who said that this page offers more laughs than most jokes, and I personally don't mind that. But...I don't think that the majority of the posts should be deviant from the topic of calculators. I like some of the funny things on here, I am just a bit perplexed by the fact that there are less comments on calculators on the page than there are more comments about comments that there are no comments on calculators on the page.

(anybody confused yet???)

Anyway, it's just something that seemed strange to me.

I think the most recently enrolled class section has to be reworked a little. I am in two math classes, Stats and Pre-calc right now. But which do I check- it only allows me to choose one!

I think they should have been check boxes, I'm in both classes as well. Instead, I just voted PDM.
