Program of the Month Award
Posted by Kirk on 1 April 1999, 02:05 GMT

Following was an April Fool's joke that was meant to be informative at the same time... not a good combination... But even so, we encourage you to vote for the Programs of the Month anyway :)

Due to a lack of interest in our recent Program of the Month voting, we have decided to step things up a little. Therefore, the file archivers will pick a Program of the Hour; from that, they will pick a Program of the Day. Out of those they will pick a Program of the Week. Then each month they'll group these together and let you vote on them.

Well this has to be the 2nd lamest ticalc.org April Fool's Joke ever (out of two). Check out the link above for e-mail responses to the one last year, it was better.

I hate to break the trend of these comments, but why do we need a password and username to vote? I've wondered this before...
Also, is any assembly game released in the month we're voting for eligible to be one of the games to vote for? and are they entered automatically? (in other words, do you actually have to ask for ticalc to include your program or will they do it themselves.)

You need to register as a voter so people don't vote more than once. Sorry it's such a hassle, we'll be making it a little easier pretty soon.

Why don't you let the user at least choose a password and assign them a number? I think that would be a lot easier to remember one nonsense string than two. (one for username and one for password)

Why don't you stop it with that "respond, I dare ya" stuff?

George, you always dare me to respond, and I do, and then you don't say anything. Anyway, you're entitled to your opinion, I don't really care what you think of it. :)

Why bother with the lamest April Fools joke ever. If you couldn't think of something good then don't bother with one at all. I know Adam couldn't think of anything good so DIM-TI isn't going to bother with an April Fools joke. How long did it take to come up with that? Did it take more that 2 seconds of planning? Do you do everything here with such a lack of planning? I sure hope not.

You say I'm entitled to my own opinion and you don't care. Why did you blast me anytime I posted on other stuff like when you fired Bryan. I clearly remember everytime I posted you would tell me I was all wrong and you think I'm a loser and stuff like that. I really don't appreciate the way you respond to stuff. You give ticalc.org a bad image acting like that. And if you delete this you prove that I'm right.

You've dared me to respond, and now you criticize me for doing so. That's why I hold your opinions in pretty low regard.
