Emulator86 v0.50 released
Posted on 6 March 1999, 03:23 GMT

Kirk Meyer has released Emulator86 v0.50. This is an update of the previously released TI-86 emulator for Windows 3.1 and Windows 9x. New in this version is realistic mode with virtual keypad support, contrast effects, much better greyscale support, and more. The next major step for this program is the conversion to a TI-8x emulator. Other features to be incorporated soon include parallel and serial linking support.

um, correct me if i'm wrong, but didn't Kirk Meyer "resign" from ticalc.org some months ago. Not that I'm complaining that he's still actively programming and involved...I think that's great. it's just, well, if you make a statement saying you're going to leave, and make a lot of commotion and noise over it, you should abide by your decision. Else, no need to ever bother (i remember it was some grandiose reason that wasn't specified, and as a result caused quite a bit of controvesy, much like the current situation with Bryan Rabeler being rejected. Some declared Meyer left because of political reasons, religious, some even deemed him gay.). Why make all the fuss if what you've declared publically isn't indeed the truth?

Who won? ;)

Just had to say that...

Anyways... has anyone got a ROM dumping program to work with a home made serial cable link? If so, what ROM dumping program did you use... I got it to work once, but that was awhile ago and I forgot what did it...

I wrote one. It's on TICalc in the dos link software section, it's called getrom8x. I've heard that it works for most people, but it there have been a few that it doesnt work for.

Eric

Does anyone know if there is, or any plans for, a WinCE version of the TI-86 emulator to work on a PPC (Palmtop computer)?

Thanks,

ROM TROUBLES
PJ

I haven't been able to get the ROM image. I tried all the instructions. I ran the DOS command line as I should (romdump ti86.rom 262144 COM1{That is the one on my Graph Link Software that works}). I then opened the program in my calculator and after the DOS program was running, I hit ENTER. The numbers don't increase. If I am doing something wrong, can someone respond?
Also, does anyone have a ROM already that they can send to me UofMFanPJ @ aol.com or know of a website I can get one???????

I love this thing, but one question?
BH2

I got this thing working and I LOVE it! Kirk Meyer needs to be loudly applauded for such a great job.

** Applauding **

But, one question. How do u save a RAM image to load again? On the file menu the load and save option is greyed out.
