Posted on 7 February 1999, 22:23 GMT

[Bomberbloke Screenshot]

Matthew Shepcar of Icarus Productions has released the first public beta of Bomberbloke for the TI-86. This is a complete remake of the popular game, Bomberman, for the TI-86. In addition to single player mode, Bomberbloke supports up to four plays and features many powerups. This is a 10-level preview version, but you can expect another version to be out soon.

Droooooool....
Matt S., you are one of the greatest programmers to ever grace the ti-86 world, (of course along with Andreas ess and jimmy mardel, maybe a few others...). this game is the best that i've ever played. sweeeeet....
only one thing though, when i play a multiplayer link game, 30 percent of the time, the game on both calcs just freezes, and when i push exit it returns to the menu. i think this has to do with the link port timing out, do you know when this will be fixed? (although i can play multiplayer still without problems most of the time).

also, what do zappers, boots, and flamers do, i read the help but i cant make them do anything

GREAT GAME THOUGH,

Awsome game! The best game ever for the 86, IMHO. Great grayscale graphics, great single player mode, link play, best user interface ever, this game has it all!!! Great work SCaBBy! Glad you finally decided to release it ;-)

If you had read the readme file (or the source :), it tells that they aren't implemented yet. They do nothing for now (which is why you don't get them in multiplayer mode [by default]).

You new here? You gotta learn what those acronyms stand for:

LOL = laughing out loud (ROFL is an augmentative of that)
IMHO = in my humble opinion

There are others ;)

This has happened to me regardless of power-ups. In fact, I've never finished a multiplayer game without this happening. Great game otherwise though!

Great game! Just wondering, is there a possibility of speeding up the game a bit, or is it going as fast as it will go? If you ever do it how about having like 2 selectable speeds

Possible Bug Found
Kane

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, since I use YAS for a shell and it used to crash a lot with Flush 1.1, but when I was on level 5 of Bomberbloke, something went wrong and I appeared in the title bar (w/ the # of bombs, etc). I was able to get out of it, but the graphics were messed up for the title and also a "shadow" was left behind me each time i walked forward, and I found out I was able to put down as many bombs as I wished (more than 8 - I almost filled up a horizontal line on the screen with bombs before I died). Weird, huh?

Eugene (who cares which one?)

Say! I don't want to see that "Port it to the TI-xx now!" crap. (At least it's on topic...maybe.)

SPUI

I am an 86 user, and I think it should be ported. Not enough people I know have an 86, so if I want to play against them, I have to do 2 on the same calc, which ends up hurting my neck. BTW there's an easy way to avoid crashing link play: bomb all the ? marks.

Or just go to Options and set the Multiplayer Extras to 0 "?"s. :)

hehe

woohoo, i got to level 9 then died :]

just a few suggestions... make bomb time less for explosion, and put in an extra life powerup for single player only :)

Otherwise this game rocks, it's the best one I've seen so far for the TI-86.

On a totally unrelated subject matter :) ...

I seriously doubt Zelda: Reckoning of Time is coming out anytime soon. I've been visiting Macross Software's homepage for a while, trying to find out exactly when it is coming out, and they seem to find a new excuse why it's not coming out for a while every week. Two excuses even clashed with each other. One week it said Mikel needs C++ to CONTINUE Zelda, then it says about 3 weeks later that Mikel hasn't touched C++ in about one year so he has to learn again until Zelda can continue. Weird how they said a Zelda beta was released to a "select few" before this last msg came out (and they said the sword still needs to be finished before a public beta would be released... I won't even go into that). Go figure. Theres also this thing about how they keep getting new ideas for other games before they can even start on the old games. Oh well, thats my two cents anyways.

Macross is developing so much new stuff Zelda is in the "back seat." NeontechII and Quest 3 part 2 seem very promising.

Yeah, it's a hard game. Mikel seemed to have forgotten some good clues. I had to email him about 3 times during the course of the game to be able to beat it. I never made a rpg before, but it seems to me that if someone does, they should have other people that NEVER SAW the game before test it and see whether or not it's beatable w/ the clues provided. I mean, if you made the game, of course you're gonna know what to do and think it's easy.

Oh yeah, in the castle you have to go Northeast in the king's room to get a chest which tells you to dig in the forest. Then, when you get the heal spell, you have to use it on the dead tree to get into the mansion.
