Bomber development continues
Posted on 1 January 1999, 00:59 GMT

Chistrophe Fondacci recently e-mailed his team of beta testers for Bomber. He is currently working on the next version with built-in sprite routines, faster gameplay, better levels, more clever monsters, and many more monsters and bonuses. All this will be in version 1.2, which will be released within one or two months. A new level editor, running under Windows 9x, is also in the works.

Well, v1.01 Beta is currently for the TI-92 and TI-92 Plus. I'd guess it would be easy to port it to the TI-89 as well.

That's right, it will be for 92/92+ at a first time, and a bit later for the 89 (because of screen size problems). But we are working (with the doors team) on a resident screen converter to run all programs that use all the size of the 92+, on the 89... So if we are successful in making this prog, there will be no more problems !

is there multiplayer support? if so, is it via link port or on the same calc?

While it doesn't require a linkrout routine thingy, 2-player mode on the same calculator will result in serious crowding! Ouch! (That said, don't even try 4-player on the same calc.)

The battle mode (2 player) by link has not been implemented yet, but I will work hard on it !
You can still play with 2 players on the same calc, and it is not so slow ! I think just fun to play, and a little bit slower than the 1P-mode but still playable (according to the beta-tester's opinion)

Please don't change libs that are already out there like graphlib (ala Doors) or util (ala Plusshell) in making Bomber. If nessecary, create a lib, but please don't edit any others. It really sucked when none of my other games worked because of incompatible libs. Espically because I really liked Bomber.
