TI-Files selling advertisements
Posted on 31 October 1998, 02:13 GMT

The TI-Files is selling advertisement space on the top of their front page. Rates are US $15 for a week and US $50 for a month. E-mail Ian Kaplan if you are interested.

The TI-Files people need to realize that if they want to collect money for advertisements on their site, then they are going to need to remain open for more that a few days at a time. They haven't done that in months. Who would be dumb enough to pay $50 to advertise on a site that is down 30%-75% of the time?

They better have a nice refund policy.

LOL
I love it when ticalc has news stories that don't say anything bad about ti-files but when you read between the lines you know it says they stink :)

TiCalc isn't hinting at anything. It's you dumbass. So far, every ticalc news item has been pretty fair.

it seems like they aren't hinting at anything, but once the visitors read all about it, they see what's really going on; that's the beauty of it

Sarcasm

Actually, it's fairly obvious that Ticalc is trying to mock TI-Files with this one. I mean, in a court of law you couldn't prove it, but why else would they tell us about TI-Files selling advertisements? Who cares?

Because, fool, those services really suck! You don't have control over the server, everything is determined by the service provider. The webmasters are under the strictures of the provider, and must follow their guidelines. In addition, and perhaps the most telling argument of all, I SERIOUSLY DOUBT THAT THE ENTIRE WWW.TICALC.ORG FILES WOULD FIT INTO THE SPACE GIVEN BY GEOCITIES OR SIMILAR (what is it now, 2Meg, 5?)

Re: Re: Re: Re: TI-Files selling advertisements

they're talking about FREE, not pay money
$25 > $0
therefore not free
and why did you just announce that you know a place, and not tell what it is ?

Spree.com offers unlimited space for free. I wouldn't use them though because when you try and upload zip files it changes the extension to htm. And there is no way around it.
