TI Releases the TI-89 Graph Link Software
Posted on 2 September 1998, 23:39 GMT

Texas Instruments has released the TI-89 Graph Link software. Also released is a new version of the TI-92 Plus Graph Link software. Both are English versions and run on Windows 3.1/95/NT 4.0. This is the first time that TI has released Graph Link software that will run under Windows NT. Macintosh versions are still not available.

well, i don't know how "real" this 89 software is. When i installed it, it said "done installing 92 plus software." then i got an error with "92plus" at the top. i think TI just sort of made the 92plus software the 89 software because they know it works with the 89. i'm hoping TI actually comes out with a REAL version.

I wonder how soon it will be until there
are games for the 89, Not sure which to buy
the 86 or the 89, maybe the 92's games will
work with the 89 or maybe the 86's who knows
I guess games will just take a while to get
out until more people have the 89's...

According to TI, the TI-89 will run 92 programs... as far as which to buy, I already own the TI-86 and love it; I'm going to be getting the TI-89 on Monday, when the Staples in my area gets it.

Re: Re: TI Releases the TI-89 Graph Link Software
too

get the ti-89 its far superior... thers no way a ti-92 game will work on a ti-86... but there is a chance for it to work on a ti-89 cuz they use the same processor (diff screen tho). The ti-89 is basically a handheld version on the ti-92 its well woth the extra 30 bux (over the 86)

Well, I have two questions. Now that the Graphlink software is out, Bryan: now are you going to make the 89 archives? My other question is, when is TI going to make the asm stuff for the 89? Thanks.

When are they going to port the TI-85 Graph-Link software to Windows NT 4.0?
I currently have to use my (thank god I have it) Linux server sitting here right next to me to recv85 and send85...

When are they going to port to NT?!!!!!!!!

Graph Link Software for Linux
Justin Smith

I am glad to see that TI is expanding its range of platforms for Graphlink Development, but as has been mentioned many times before, there is still no Graphlink type suite for Linux. TI has said on many occasions that they will not release the specifications for development of this, but they have never indicated any reason for not porting the Graphlink Software to Unix type platforms themselves. TI is a large technology corporation and I'm sure that there are many people inside TI who use Unix. It would be nice if TI would release Graphlink software for Linux/BSD/C-Unix and possibly even X WOS, but I don't see this happening without at least some kind of petition campaign. Is there anyone else who is thinking this too?

I would *really* like to see the GraphLink run on Linux. I don't know if a petition would be successful, but I sent them an email, anyway.

I am at school trying to download the Windows version of the TI-89 Graph link. I have Windows 98 on this, and it says when i try to run it that "a device attached to the system is not functioning" can you give me some feedback on what the problem is??
thanks
adam
