This is a great app/program! But there is one thing it really

really needs: Save function.

Without this, it seems like a big waste of time playing any game. If this feature existed, it would be perfect! But I know

just this alone must have taken a while to create, and I'm not saying anything negative about what was already made. So fantastic program/app! It is a must-have for anyone with this calculator.

Hey, so TI-Boy works GREAT.....but on my TI-84+SE, it doesn't work. I read the "readme" that came with it and it clearly says,"If your TI Serial# ends with no letter or ends with A-G then TI-Boy should work. And this is my Serial Number,0A38C-F2096-C31C. I checked my serial# and there is NO letter that goes past G and when I pressed the app it said,"Since TI changed the 84+ hardware in 2007, TI-Boy doesn't have all the RAM it needs. Sorry! See the readme for more info."Well I read the readme info and it should work. What is happening?!?!

It's difficult to review an emulator, especially one like TI-Boy, since not only is it an alpha, but it extremely high quality despite the platform it's running on.

TI-Boy is currently the only gameboy emulator for a calc that supports sound, and not only that, but it has amazing grayscale.

TI-Boy doesn't have "amazing" support for games, but again, considering how powerful it is and what it's running on, compatibility is pretty good (Pokemon Red plays flawlessly!).

For those who are angry, TI-Boy does not work on newer 84+s and 84+SEs because they lack 96kb of RAM. Don't blame the author, blame TI.

To give it a rating: 9/10.

It is much faster and more powerful than the 68k GB emulator, but if you have an nspire, get gbc4nspire, which is by the same author. If you have both an nspire and an 83+SE/84+/84+SE, get TI-Boy anyways. Seeing it actually running is amazing.

This is my favorite application for the TI-83+ family. I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to play their favorite games on their calculator. I would suggest, however, that for some games (Pokemon, for instance) be played only on a TI-84+ SE, for I have found the least amount of bugs there and the most memory to support games. The zoom works well for games I have played, and the sprite tracking is quite nice.

Graphics:

9/10 The grayscale is excellent, but does not look good from the minimum zoom.

Controls:

10/10 The controls make sense and are what you would expect.

Gameplay:

n/a Varies from game to game

Speed:

10/10 Extremely fast, considering what it is doing. No distinguishable difference between this and an actual GameBoy.

Misc:

7/10 I like the saving system, and the ability to archive saves, but would like to see more support for ROMs.

Most people would look at this and think that it's too incredible for it to actually work well. Well here's news for you: It does.

Admittedly, it's still only an emulator and it's still in rather early development, but it will run many games with few to no compatibility issues, including the above pictured Zelda: Link's Awakening and Pokemon Red and Blue Versions.

The program works by converting a Nintendo Gameboy ROM into a calculator application. The save files are saved as application variables.

There are only two cons to this program:

The applications themselves are absolutely enormous, plus that doesn't include the save files. Depending on the game, you will only be able to fit one or two of them on a TI84+SE.

The other downside is that it requires an immense amount of RAM. Many calculators don't have enough to run it. Some games will be able to run on the 83+SE or on the 84+, but there aren't very many. Also, since TI has started changing the way the 84+SE calculators are made, many of the newer 84+SE calculators don't have enough RAM to run big games. The creator has noted that you can determine whether a calculator will have enough RAM by looking at the last letter in the serial number on the TI84+SE. If the letter is within the range of A-G, then it should work.

This is my favorite program that has become available for calculators. Even if you don't think that it's very great right now, it shows incredible potential. The developer is still working on it, too. In short, this is the best gaming program there is for a calculator.

Note: This program will not work with the TI NSpire's 84+SE keypad.

Possibly one of the best applications you can get for you TI83/TI84 Calculator, this APP allows you to play famous games like Mario, Zelda, and Pokemon on your calculator! Greyscale programming, and easy operation make this a big success! Disappointingly though, Pokemon Red and other games my freeze your calculator upon exit, forcing a RAM clear by removing the batteries, which causes saving problems. Nevertheless, this is a must download!

This is an amazing program that may potentially revolutionize gaming on the TI83pSE-84p(SE). With a bit more work, this program could support all monochrome GameBoy games. No longer would people need to remake GameBoy games for the calculator. I suspect that this program took a long time to write, but it was worth the effort all the way! I viewed the disassembly window of the calculator debugger on the computer because the source code was not included, and it seams that this program uses the calculator's resources to the fullest. I can conclude that it takes great knowledge about the calculator's hardware and z80 programming in general to generate such awesome code.

Usefulness:

10/10

Ease of operation:

10/10

Originality:

10/10

It's a good emulator but the data is too big! You have to delete many apps(on the TI 84+) before you can play.

The gameplay is laggy and some ROMs don't work. I wouldn't play GB games on my TI because you can play GB games on your Computer too with colour and sound;)

6/10
