“Tetris” is a great game, and it shows the powers of Basic if applied well. However, I think it was time wasted on the part of the programmer. The program is definitely not original, with “Tetris” games also in the archives. Its whopping 7k in size is no match to the 3k boasted by assembly-based alternatives. What I do like about it is that this “Tetris” game looks like the old “Tetris” with actual blocks, instead of solid squares. I'm sure the programmer learned a lot from programming this game. I hope he will have plenty of other games to come.

This game has great graphics, but with slow speed. It is definitely one of the best Basic games I have ever played, but it just doesn't measure up to its ASM siblings.

I give this game a 9 out of 10 as a Basic game, and a 3 out of 10 as a “Tetris” game, taking into consideration other titles available for z80 calcs.

For a BASIC game, “Tetris v1.1” is a nice looking game! However, it runs really slowly! It is an awesome clone, but why play “Tetris” if it is going to be so slow, which makes the gameplay really easy?! You might as well just go download an assembly version of it. Although this game looks nice, it is too slow to be a good game.

Creativeness - 3/10
Gameplay - 5/10 (Super slow)
Graphics - 10/10 (This is the best part of the game, the pieces look nice)
Fun Factor - 3/10 (Too slow to be fun)
Overall - 5/10 (If this was in ASM then it would be sweet!)
