A sweet pong, 5 fps,hiscore save, detailed options, my third game, and i am admitting that about 7% of my code is plagerized. if you look at Brian Mertel's pong, you will see some menu similaritys, and dimension similaritys. >>>BUT... this does not mean im a no good programer. Brian Mertel's pong was the first thing i put on my calc, and i entered it by hand (through ti graphlink software, for my bro killed my cable) and when i got it in, i saw it needed vast improvement. it has 35 programs, and they're all unprotected. Breakout + Pong Fun Pak
Homescreen Breakout and Pong for your TI-83 Plus. In my opinion, my version of Breakout is the best BASIC one out there, homescreen or graphscreen. Utilizing some interesting code techniques of mine, Breakout has fun, fast, and challenging game play. Some of the features include responsive and easy to use controls, a cool scoring system, an attractive main menu, 5 unique levels, and a crash/hackproof high score (unless you know exactly where to look). All in all a very fun game with high replay value. Pong is not quite as spiffy as Breakout, but is fun nonetheless and has smooth and fast gameplay. Both games feature "Teacher Key" support which allows you to quickly quit. Both also utilize a BASIC cleanup utility program called CLEARCAL (included in the .zip file) which cleans up your calc after playing to keep it running smoothly. Please read the .txt files for more information, including installation instructions and detailed descriptions of both games. I hope you have as much fun with these games as I do. |

Hung Pong
Not surprisingly, this is a Pong clone, but wait! It has some credibility! It was my entry for the Pong clone programming contest on GreenFire (a TI programming site) in 2004, and it was voted first place for BASIC graphics! Around that time, some of us were still laughing about William Hung, the American Idol contestant who sang "She Bangs" by Ricky Martin in a unique fashion. This Pong clone is based on William Hung's memorable performance. The title screen is actually a photograph of his face, which I converted into BASIC code, in what is referred to by one of the voters on GreenFire as "the face effect." When the ball makes contact with paddle, messages flash on the screen saying things like "She bangs!" and "She moves!" It's winnable and has an ending, as well. I'm completely aware that the collision detection is a bit odd. It actually works as planned (it's not a bug in my opinion) but it may take some getting used to. Anyways, I hope you enjoy the game, and here are the instructions: download Hung_Pong.zip, unzip it, and send HUNGPONG.83P to your calculator. Then run prgmHUNGPONG. |

This pong is made in basic and uses the graph window. The nearer the edge the ball bounces the more the bouncing angle will be. This makes the game a lot funnier. The longer the ball stays in the game the faster the ball moves which means it gets harder. With the speed settings you can set the start speed of the ball and how much the speed increases each time the ball hits a paddle. Each time you quit the scores are saved and you can later continue next time you are playing. |

Pong Suite BASIC
This is the same as the Pong Suite application, only it takes up much less memory but must be run from RAM. This is only the second file I've uploaded, so please download and let me know what you think. It comes with four separate Pong programs; one has an AI opponent, and the other has no opponent; you simply hit the ball to the other side of the screen and try to catch it when it comes back. There are also programs where the ball moves two pixels at a time, which makes the game faster, but less smooth and harder, since the paddles still only move one pixel at a time. |

X-Pong2
X-Pong2 is a simple paddle game where you score by hitting the ball pass the AI player. There are three AI modes, easy, normal, and inhuman. You get three balls, if the AI gets them past you, game over. Control the paddle with the up and down arrows, you are the paddle on the right. At the end of the game you can see your score and the high score and obviously the greater the difficulty the more points you are awarded.
