So, you're comparing Win98 (new) to an old release of MacOS? MacOSX is the
latest release of MacOS. It can handle multilink.

The kinkos in alaska use Macs and the Macs are on Ethernet. Not 17 year
old serial netowrks.
AppleTalk uses the serial port! Whats available for the PC like this?

Not realy. You plug a mac into an ethernet hub or switch, restart it (it
will find the new network connection) and then ask if you want to use it.
Done.
This is what its like with MacOS 7.0 and above.
