You can edit a .asm file in any text editor- BBEdit, notepad, etc.

First, you can not use a home link with TI software. Also, if your
batterys are low, it may have trouble recieving backups. (Happened to
me with cntrst 9, I guess the timing gets off if TI doesn't do
handshaking). If you have a new calc, push the cable in real hard.
