2.5mm female connector.
Just a quick question for those who have disassembled their TI-85, or read
somewhere. The 2.5mm link port inside the calc, is it Normally Open (N.O.),
or Normally Closed (N.C.) (I'm talking the electrical continuity of the
physical connector) i.e.
A Normally Open connector
| \/--o Tip
| /\______o Ring
|__________o Sleeve
a Normally Closed connector
| \/--------o Tip
| /\___o N.C. on Tip
| \/---o N.C. on Ring
| /\____________o Ring
|__________________o Sleeve
If the link port uses the N.O. type, I know I can use the N.C. connector by
not wiring anything to the N.C. contacts, but I'm going to be buying a few
of them for some projects, and the N.O. type are cheaper.
