While I think that you ahve a valid point, I have my own thought on this
matter. I currently don't own an e2 for 2 reasons:
1. I don't quite have the money to get one
2. (Most importantly) what can I use all of that space for

If there is a OS that supports the e2 and uses more of it's space and
capabilities. I would definently buy it. I think other people might agree with
this and a lack of use for all of that mem could be holding them back. Not
many people had personal computers when they hit the market, but now they are
extremely possible. I believe that the e2 would increase in popularity if an
OS was created only for the e2 and used it capabilities and functions.
