Link play is not always useless. At the school I go to, TI-85s are the second most popular calculator (aside from the 82 because they are cheap). After the math lecture, we are free to do what we wish, and I usually play ZTetris and do me homework at home. With that I can play with 86s, too. So don't rule it out: have it as an option.
