I have actually measured the interrupt rates on calculators and found
results much closer to yours on 'similar' calculators; I got 102 per
second on a TI-82, and about 115 per second on a TI-83 Plus.  As has
already been said, I'm sure there is some variation between calculators.
I would guess that the classic figure of 200 comes from an approximate
measurement someone made of the interrupt rate on the TI-85 years ago (I
measured the TI-85 and TI-86 at about 175 per second).
