Post-Halloween Updates
Posted by Michael on 3 November 2003, 23:55 GMT

PolySnd v2.0While there hasn't been much news recently, there are several things worth mentioning today. First, Anneheim Geoffrey has been working on a MIDI-playing utility called PolySnd v2.0, for the 89/92+/Voyage 200. It has a player and a converter.

The EE*Pro (89 & 92+/Voyage 200) and ME*Pro (89 & 92+/Voyage 200) flash applications are now free for download in the TI Online Store. Previously these apps were only available for a fee. They are primarily useful for Electrical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering students.

Finally, Seth Berger was kind enough to send in pictures of his Halloween costume (from 1996). I mention this because he wore the most awesome costume one could possibly wear: He dressed up as everyone's favorite calculator, the TI-85!.

Update (Joey): The player has been updated, so go grab the new version. Also, major props to Seth on the costume... I wish I were that brave.

Agreed. The choice of the TI-86 over the 82, 83, 85, 92, or other calculators really helps as well.

Oh. Thanks. I didn't notice the subtle difference over the switch in TABLE and STAT.

85, 86, 89 are all acceptable. 85/86 gets bonus indie cred points.

I just want to let it be known that Seth Berger is the hottest man alive, and dressed in this wonderful calculator costume is just a delight to see! Thank you for the privilege!

Hmmm... A Girl?

Yes his costume is cool and somewhat amusing. However to the topic, I have never seen a girl on this site at all. Are there any others, or are you the only one?

Someone's eyes are broken...

And that can't be a real girl. I know girls, and they don't get that excited about calculators. Ever.

I'm one of the few who is in the same boat. Brand new to the site and first thing posted is about how hot a calc freak is. Not to mention, I've never met a self-respecting girl who, when talking to entire strangers, refers to herself as a hot_nurse. (Not that they might exist)

"hottest man alive" isn't rhetoric I frequently consider in the lexicon of the female.

Wow, another female calc user....welcome, if you are really a girl (which seems likely since most guys wouldn't say that Seth Berger is hot).

That's pretty cool...though as noted above, it would be good if it was for the ti-83/+.

Yes...TI-83+ is AMAZING!! It is easy to program, supports flash upgradeability, greyscale, and sound. I think that everyone should have one (especially a Silver Edition).
