Thomas Nussbaumer Updates
Posted by Eric on 26 June 2001, 07:44 GMT

So, I'm back from a little trip of mine, complete with instructions from one Adam Berlinsky-Schine to, in his words, "make sure never to let Henrik near the news again." Alrighty, Adam. Anyway, due to a recent bout of the flu, esteemed (and recently-retired) 68K programmer Thomas Nussbaumer has updated several of his programs. Proceed to check out the TIGCC Tools Suite v0.99 Official beta, TI-Chess v3.30 for the TI-89 and TI-92+, and the TICT eBook-Reader v1.77 (?!) for the TI-89 and TI-92+. And don't ask me how he comes up with these version numbers. Please.

I just downloaded these, and I can't wait to try them. These days I only (use my calc to) play chess and read e-books, so this is great news.

You know, Henrik has been zinged a lot for that all to recent post. . .you'd think this kind of community wouldn't mind the star-treck theme. But then again, that makes it sound like I'm trying to make fun of the very people that I include myself with. Ah well.

yes, stop insulting Henrik. He's been here since the beginning doing the hard work so let him have some fun.

Exactly. I liked the post. It was a change from the monotony of the news (wait, news isn't monotony, it is rare!).
Back on topic, you gotta wonder how Tom feels. Many people are happy that he was sick. Well, if that is the price for high-quality programs, then I don't want them.

It was a tiny summer flu, which was cured after 3 days and on the 4th day I found some time for coding (before getting back to my job).

About MuttRock3D: This project is laying on ice for a while. The problem is not the coding, but the whole amount of time which is necessary to assemble everything correctly.

insult? hmm, sounds to me more like they were joking. Personally I don't care if they went to an all-startrek theme complete with a background midi file (heh) as long as they keep the news updated. :)

Oh, and what's wrong with the version numbers? Sounds like something I would do. lol

you'd think someone that is defending Henrik for his posts probably likes star trek, and consequently, would at least know that trek is spelled without a c.

Good, but when is he going to release MuttRock3D? I could help him with the coding.

Tom, are you going to continue working on the TICT-Explorer? Some of those additions you were planning to add would be helpful.

No, they can't come with 1.00, but 1.05 and higher support HW2.
