Attention span: 10/10 Very fun and addictive Controls: 6/10 Some location problems Implementation: 9/10 Needs a few minor changes Overall: 8/10 Gameplay overcomes faults
Subhunt is a very fun game in which you are a ship that drops depth charges on moving submarines below. The points for hitting a sub is based on its depth and speed. Also, you must avoid shots fired at you by the subs.
Subhunt is a challenging and addictive game at a reasonable size of 2.5K. One of its major advantages is that it is availiable for multiple calculator platforms. This alows you to compare scores and compete with friends that have different calculators. The idea for the game is simple, but very fun, and it will keep you playing for a while.
Subhunt does have a few problems, however. The controls use the F1 and F2 buttons to fire, which are not immediately obvious without the instructions. Also, this setup forces you to rest your hand near the quit button, sometimes causing you to exit the game accidentally. Another problem is that the fastest moving subs are nearly impossible to hit unless you drop charges before they show up. |
