I came to the conclusion that FPS games in TI-BASIC are unplayable. Well, guess what - I was just proven wrong.
Doom for 86 has good-looking monochrome graphics, as well as responsive controls. The program is small, and as far as I could tell for now, bug-free.
There is not much to do so far in the game except walk around chopping monsters (which is fairly entertaining nonetheless). It makes me wonder how it will turn out when it will be closer to the final product.
The author made a good start with “Doom” for 86, especially by having to work with a language as limited as 86 TI-BASIC. Let's see how he will get to the finish line. Keep up the good work! |
