Attention span: 9/10 Could very well take hours to beat. Controls: 10/10 Two buttons, it's not very hard! Implementation: 9/10 The author does an awesome job! Overall: 9/10 This is a great all around game, even if you don't like RPG's.
Joltima is an absolutely amazing game! Possibly the most elaborate of all TI-82 games. For those who don't know, Joltima is a traditional style RPG similar to Dragon Warrior or Ultima Exodus for the original Nintendo Entertainment System (NES). You control a party of four, and must find 8 shards in 8 dungeons which open the door to the castle.
Joltima could very well be mistaken for a Gameboy game. The graphics are awesome, and while it takes nearly all of the TI-82's memory capacity, it's worth eveery bit of it. One cool feature is that you have limited sight. You can't see around mountains and such. There are many items to find and buy in the towns, and the pedestrians in the towns move around. And the controls are great. You only have to remember two buttons (not including the directional pad, which I think is pretty self explanatory!).
Overall, this game has virtually no glitches, and despite it's large size, it should remain on your calc for a long time. |
