ZText V1.1

Description
|
This cool little program gives any programmer the great availability of a text input without needing the user to activate the alpha manually. This gives you the ability to get a name for a character or highscore, from either the home or graphscreen of your game. Optimizations made, error checking added! Check out the readme for more info!

Note! This review was written for a previous version of this file!
While the idea behind this program is good, this program isn't one I would keep. The code and technique could use some optimization. The program uses two extra variables that are unnecessary. The variable used to keep the program in the While loop is not modified once during execution, and another variable the readme says is used is only set to 0 once and never used again. Also, by using a different technique, the string used to store the alphabet could have been compacted to take less space, and the conditional used to check if the key pressed was a letter could have been much shorter. If you are a novice TI-BASIC programmer who does not know much about getkey text input, then take this program as a challenge to optimize it. Otherwise, I do not recommend this program for download. |
