Attention span: 8/10 Fun, interesting take of Simon. Controls: 8/10 Need to learn them while playing. Implementation: 9/10 High score, nice title screen. Overall: 8/10 Just a fun game.
I was borrowing a friend's TI82 the other day, looking for some cool games to put on it, when I came across this interesting filename: "Breakdance!".
After putting it on my calculator, I was quite surprised by a fun little twisted version of Simon; you have to watch the guy on the left do a move, and then you have to cut your own rug by repeating the other's moves. The dances are done via the directional keypad, each direction doing a different move.
This originated from the C64 under the same name, programmed by Epyx, and the C64 disk image is included incase you have a C64 emulator and want to try it out (or if you are willing to download one to try it out).
The graphics were nice (two guys dancing, nothing else but a timer in the center), and it was pretty easy to tell what button did what move, and what move the other dancer did. The dancers themselves were stickmen, bustin' some moves.
My only problem with this game would be that you don't get a chance to see what arrow button does what move in something like a practice round before you actually start a game.
This game should probably be on your calculator if you are one of those who enjoy Simon games or if you like to see two guys breakdancing on your calculator. It impresses friends, as well. |
