Description

QWERTY is a text editor for the TI 83 or TI 83-Plus. The text files created can be sent to a computer and opened as plain text. Also, plain text from a computer can be sent to the calculator. Unlike most text editors for calculator, QWERTY, by flipping the calculator sideways allows one to type using a key configuration similar to a regular keyboard.

A QWERTY keyboard for your TI: Although I found it a little awkward just starting out, I'm sure I'll get used to it. If you're thumbs are long enough, I suggest you use it like you would a “BlackBerry” by grasping the calculator between the base of the thumb and the index finger, and then use the tips of your thumbs to type. Unfortunately, most people's hands aren't big enough for this, and the entire top row is inaccessible because of it. The only other option I've discovered is to lay it flat on a table and to touch type like you normally would. This has its own problems, but I have found it to be more comfortable and easier to use this way.
One small bug to mention: when I quit the program for the first time, “Ion” ceased to recognize it. This hasn't happened since, though. |
