You may also know it as Snood, Bust-a-move, or Puzzle Bobble, but the concept is the same -- match znoods of the same type and use strategy to make other znoods detach.

Attention span: 10/10 I love this game! Controls: 10/10 Simple: left/right/2nd. Implementation: 10/10 Just like orginal, but less graphic Overall: 10/10 Fireworks from game.
Okay all you Puzzle Bobble fans, here's the perfect travel game for you! Znood, by Kirk Meyer, is fast Bust A Move/Puzzle Bobble game for the 86. Znood offers five levels of difficulty, each higher level having more symbols to match and less time before the top of the screen lowers. I haven't been able to beat level 5 yet; I think it's impossible--so many symbols, and so little time AND space.
As far as graphics go, what can I say? I mean, we are talking about a TI 86 here with black and white...but despite that, I would have to say that the game has great graphics. It runs the game at a fast speed, instead of slow, and it doesn't have any extra graphics that would only take more space up on your calculator and leave your batteries on "E." Because this game is in the puzzle genre, each time you play is different: sometimes you seem to get all the symbols you need, and sometimes you wonder if the calculator hates you. Each time I play, the game is different, and that makes the game all the better. I haven't found any bugs in the game yet, but if I do find any, I'll report them to Mr. Kirk Meyer ASAP and I suggest you do the same.
My only suggestions for this game are for Kirk to add his email address to the title screen, and that the next symbol at the bottom of the screen wouldn't move so quickly to the center. I guess it needs to, but it just seems to get on my nerves because it moves so fast, that I can't tell what it is, and if I look to the right while I'm playing, I just get too distracted with that one little thing. Maybe I'm just easily distracted, but I think he should just make the next piece just pop into place instead of sliding across the screen. Oh yeah, I love those fireworks when you beat the game! Also, maybe Kirk should add the option of a guideline, just to help beginners out. That may take up too much coding... |
