Oh my gosh what can I say about this program. It is probably at least my second favorite assembler program of all time. To use this program all you have to do is put this line ".plugin lite86" into your code, preferably after your included files and make sure that all the files the download comes with are in the same folder as the .asm file you are creating is in and it will do all the work for you.
So what does it do....IT SAVES BYTES! I have seen this compression utility take off more than 50% of the total size of a program, saving nearly 3000 bytes! I use this on every single program I make. I have actually figured out that it is better to not try an optimize your code and just let Lite86 II do it for you. When I have tried optimizing my code and then running the compression utility on it, it is actually larger than if I just ran Lite86 II on the program to begin with. I see no reason why anyone creating 86 assembly program would not want to use this utility on their programs. it is so easy to use and does so much for your programs. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU so much for creating this Kirk. You were heaven sent! |
