Attention span: 8/10 9 if there's two human players.
Controls: 7/10 Daunting at first.
Implementation: 8/10 Obviously a labor of love.
Overall: 9/10 Ahh, nostalgia...

Tank combat is always fun. When I was in high school and me and my friends had some free time in programming, we would play a game called Tank Wars. This is a good game that is similar to it.

The controls may seem daunting at first, but don't let that discourage you. After a round or two you'll be a natural. You'll be lobbing shots at your foes in no time. The AI is good as well. Too bad there's only one enemy tank.

I do have a few gripes though. While repairing shields in the middle of a match seems nice, iit really gets annoying to deal a lot of damage to your opponent only to have him heal and have it all wiped away. He will also hit you for as much damage as he possibly can, so if he draws a bead on you, you can kiss your butt goodbye. And like I said earlier, there should be multiple tanks with either a human or computer AI controlling it.

These aside, Tanks is a nifty game that will tend to stick around on your calc. After all, who dosen't get the satisfaction of blowing you opponent into itty bitty pieces?
